Our courses are run on a school term basis; you can enrol at the beginning of a new term, up to week 4. We then close off our enrolments until the next new term, this is so that the children can settle down, and we find that if new children start every week, it disrupts the class. If you wish to enrol after week 4 you will go on the waiting list for the next term.
Payment is made with your enrolment form, it can be paid in one cheque or alternatively payment can be split over 2 months, all we require is a post – dated cheque. Payment must be made before the start of the course, otherwise your place cannot be held.
Re –enrolment takes place on week 11 and 12. Your child will receive a progress report and re booking form, your place will be held until the end of the course, if we had not had confirmation that you wish to continue, then any available places will go to those on our waiting list.
Re – enrolment can take place on poolside or via post.
Booking priorities
1st priority to those staying in the same class
2nd priority to those needing to move days / times
3rd priority to those on the waiting list
Yes at all our levels, we work towards achievements. On week 10, our teachers will be testing your child for their next award; you will receive a progress report which outlines what they have passed and sometimes what they are struggling with.
Their awards and badges are available on the last day on poolside, at the cost of £2.50 per award.
We will also praise your child during the term, and if they have worked hard, and achieved a task they could not do before, we will often be seen to be clapping & cheering oh yes and handing out stickers on a regular basis!!
All equipment needed for our lessons are supplied by us, we use lots of different equipment so that your child will feel confident and at ease in the water. If your child wishes to bring a toy, that is fine, however AST will not be held responsible if it gets damaged or lost.
No, we hire the pools and changing facilities, the rest of the property is not accessible to us. If anyone is found to be using anything, then we are at risk of losing the facilities, any problems will be reported and you may be asked to leave. We obviously do not want this to happen and I am sure that you will all help me, to ensure that this does not occur.
Please remember that the pools we use are part of holiday lets, and so there are going to be people around running, screaming and shouting are not acceptable.
Yes at all of our pools there is room to sit and watch the lessons. At some of our pools, you will be sat close to the lesson, I know that it can be tempting to talk to your child whilst they are in their lesson, however this is not recommended as it means your child will not be listening to the instructor.
If we feel that this is happening then we may ask that you sit further away, so that we can deliver a good standard of teaching. If we have any concerns with your child’s swimming then we will talk to you straight after the lesson.
We all like to take photos of our children’s achievements, and we feel that this is important, that is why pictures are allowed to be taken.
You do need to sign a photo consent form, and get the permission of all the other parents before a picture can be taken, the photo can be taken either at the start or end of your child’s lesson, not during as this can disrupt the lesson.
In today’s society, child safety is of utmost importance. We understand that our job puts us in close contact with your children, and that is why we insist that all our teachers and assistants
